A Study of Social Support in the Eldery

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study was to know the social support between the Elderly men and Elderly women.
The subjects consisted of 87 active and communicable persons aged over 65 living in Daejeon. The results of the study were as follows ;
1. There was significant difference of direct support score between the elderly women and the elderly(t = 2.78, p<0.05).
2. There was no significant difference of indirect support score between the elderly women and the elderly men (t = 0.95, p>0.05).
3. The social support providers were siblings, offsprings, friends, relatives in the elderly women and siblings, spouse, offsprings in the elderly men.
